Pokémon originated in Japan with the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green for the Game Boy in 1996. Two years later, Pokémon arrived in North America with the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue and the debut of the animated series.

Since then, the brand has grown to include a trading card game, feature films, books, live tournaments, merchandise, and more! As Pokémon continues to grow.
